More problems for home-schoolers in Germany

We brought attention to the difficult climate for home-schooling in Germany in this column in March 2007. We shared the trials and tribulations of the Busekros family, whose 15-year-old daughter was forcibly removed from their home because she was being home-schooled. Melissa was placed in the psychiatric wing of a Bavarian clinic and was deemed to be suffering from "school-phobia." There is good news to report on behalf of the Busekros family. When she turned 16, Melissa walked away from the c… Continue

Homeschooling threatened in USA

California Schools: Sliding Down the Slope to Indoctrination? Renee E. Taylor During World War II, my mother, at the time in elementary school, was sent to boarding school in Czechoslovakia when it became too dangerous to live in Vienna. In class one day, the teacher asked "Whom do you hate the most?" My mom raised her hand, planning to say "Hitler". Mom wasn't called on, but a good friend of hers was. The other little girl said "Hitler"; my mother never saw that little girl again, alth… Continue

Continue

Ron Paul supports Homeschooling

This is what the presidential canidate, Ron Paul, has to say about Homeschooling

"My commitment to ensuring home schooling remains a practical alternative for American families is unmatched by any Presidential candidate.

Returning control of education to parents is the centerpiece of my education agenda. As President I will advance tax credits through the Family Education Freedom Act, which reduces taxes to make it easier for parents to home school by allowing them to devote more o…

Inligting oor die Vereniging

MISSIE

About the Association

MISSION
The Association for Home Schooling endeavours to obtain the recognition of society and the protection of the law of the right of parents to educate and school their children within the family.

Interest groups can also be accommodated in the association.

MEMBERSHIP
South African parents, who educate their own children, in their own homes, can join the Association for Home Schooling.

No costs are associated with membership of the association.
Members have the right to vote during meetings of the association.
The contact details of members will be stored in the database of the association, and members will be kept up to date on actions initiated by the association.
